Kewsi Pratt Junior starstled by Joyce Aryee’s NPP membership claim

After Doctor Mahamudu Bawumia announced his 40-member campaign team some days ago, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party NPP announced some peculiar names.

One such name was Reverend Dr Joyce Aryee who sided with the advisory committee team.

Prof Ransford Gyampo, a Political Science lecturer at the University of Ghana admits Madam Joyce Aryee should’ve declined the position.

“When there are issues, these eminent people rise to engage and restore calm. But if they are all to engage in partisan politics, who will mediate when issues arise? I see Joyce Aryee as eminent and expected she would have declined the invitation just to continue to play her role as an eminent state woman,” he said.

Mr Pratt, who equally sided with the Professor, appeared shocked at Joyce Aryee’s inclusion in Bawumia’s campaign team.

He even wondered when she became an NPP member.

“Is she an NPP member? I know Joyce Aryee very well, but I didn’t know that she was an NPP member…so I’m a bit shocked,” he said during a panel discussion on Peace FM’s morning show ‘Kokrokoo.’

Kwesi Pratt Junior is a leading seasoned journalist who has written and documented the life stories of many politicians in Ghana and within this time seems to have unearthed all the hidden members of the New Patriotic Party. The mention of Dr Joyce Aryee seems new to him as he expresses concern over the future of his beloved party.

Just recently Ghanaian player Asamoah Gyan was also part of the campaign team leaving many to wonder how adventurous the Npp is.
