Lamine Yamal probably inherited his skill from Lionel Messi

It was in 2006 when Adidas awarded a contract to a teenager worth 500,000 dollars per year even though it was a heavy investment for the 19 year old but by end of the season he managed to score 6 goals and provided 3 assist which he managed in only 11 appearances.

It just couldn’t have been no one else than Lionel Messi, the Argentine seems to have transferred his DNA to Blaugrana sensation Lamine Yamal, it can be famously remembered that Messi took a picture with Lamine when he was 11 years old.

The pair share the same traits with the latest been a right winger too full of thrills and flicks.

That deal, for that player, Lionel Messi, proved to be a bargain for Adidas. Now, 18 years later, another La Masia graduate has done the same thing. Lamine Yamal, another right-winger out of the Barcelona academy, penned a long-term agreement to be one of the faces of adidas’ global football brand. He will be the only other player in the world to wear Messi’s exact boots – adding a visual link to a spiritual connection that has been drawn between the two for some time.

But let’s not pile any pressure on him, we must not forget in anyway that he is still young and can easily burn-out like Pedro and Gavi, the kids are good and need to develop with time , physically and mentally too, it’s not easy to become a better footballer.

Now a boring team like Barcelona cannot keep their fans on the seats for 90 minutes , the race to find the next Messi is a ghost hunt but their only pride now can be Lamine Yamal whom Barcelona can market commercially and also excite the fans with his skills.
