Tamale Airport to be named after Yakubu Tali


President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo is set to name both the Kumasi and Tamale airports after two legends respectively, one being Yakubu Tali and the other with much prestige and from the land of the Asante Empire.

The government of Ghana, under the Nana Akufo-Addo administration, announced its decision to name the recently-commissioned Tamale Airport after a son of the land, Tolon Naa Alhaji Yakubu Alhassan Tali.
The president yesterday spoke saying

“I have one more scheduled date with the House when I would be here to give an account of my time in office. By that time, my successor would have been elected, and we would be getting ready for the swearing-in ceremony. The elections will be held peacefully, and the candidate with the credibility to take us to the next level. Let me wish all of us well in the elections on 7th December.

“Before then, there several important tasks lie ahead of us, one of which will be commissioning the Nana Agyeman Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi, and naming the recently commissioned airport in Tamale the Yakubu Tali International Airport,” Akufo-Addo announced.

The man perhaps was a born Diplomat and a humanitarian whose purpose was to uplift humanity from misery and was also credited for multiple educational reforms in the Northern Region

Yakubu Tali passed away in 1986 at the age of 70, the Tamale Airport is 98 percent complete, and with kind gestures like this shown in all sectors of the country, the president is gradually unifying the North and the South, a great feat not many like him have achieved.
